Instructions

Select invasive species of interest based on their potential negative impact on local ecosystems or human activities. Determine the status of each selected invasive species by measuring their range, total population or impact, as appropriate.

Cities can use the Horizon Scanning methodology to forecast future trends and impacts related to invasive species. Also useful is the Environmental Impact Classification for Alien Taxa (EICAT), a global standard on alien species impact assessment, mitigation measures and management actions.
